Ann Woodfield
Ann Woodfield was born and trained in South Africa. Whilst there she appeared in many
professional theatre productions, namely Archie & Mehitabel, Joseph, The Best Little
Whorehouse in Texas, Kismet and I'm Getting my Act Together and Taking it on the Road ....
which is exactly what she did!
After a year in Israel with the Bat Dor Dance Company she arrived in Britain in 1983 to
test the water. Fourteen years later her West End roles include Jenny Lind Barnum,
Jellylorum Cats, Violet Liuzzu King, Charity Barnum Barnum, Ellen Terry The Actor's
Nightmare, Philia A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and A Cavalcade of
Coward. Other credits include Maggie A Chorus Line, Joanna Godspell, Young Emily Follies,
Ethel Seesaw, Consuela West Side Story and Mary Magdalene in the European Tour of Jesus
Christ Superstar. It was whilst appearing in the recent revival of Joseph and His Amazing
Technicolour Dreamcoat that Ann met Martin and their collaboration began. Ann has also
done numerous recordings and voice-overs for television and her voice has featured on a
number of CDs for CC Productions. Having been in the professional theatre for twenty
years, Ann is exploring other facets of her talent and as a solo artist (with a bit of
help from Martin Leberman) has already appeared at London's Grosvenor House Hotel and at
Centre Stage.
